About Us

The acronym of Hmong Living in Unity and Balance, HLUB, is the direct translation of the Hmong word, love. The name of our student organization is unique because it also represents how strong we can be as a student group by promoting unity and balance for Hmong Americans while promoting, preserving, and advancing the Hmong culture and heritage. Another one of our goals is to be a support system for students as well as offer students the opportunities for leadership. Moreover, we hope to restore balance as leaders in society, but also provide all UMD students the love that is needed to nurture a promising future.
