The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) is a Civil Engineering organization for students who are looking to increase their knowledge of steel construction through hands on learning. This organization is open to students of all academic levels and majors. We focus on designing and fabricating a 20 foot long bridge made out of steel for the Student Steel Bridge Competition. This competition takes place in the spring with colleges from all across the region. We will also hope to have opportunities for academic, social, and professional development, along with various opportunities for volunteering.

The mission of the Asian Pacific American Association is to provide an environment for social and educational interaction where students can get involved, interact, and foster leadership development among the various groups of Asian Americans and the greater Duluth community. The Biology Club was established in the late sixties and gives students a place to interact socially and academically. We have a history of providing services to our department and connecting individuals within the SCSE Biology community.

Our officers coordinate with faculty and members to assign initiatives for each semester. Members collaboratively act on these initiatives by helping organize social or service events that engage the department faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, by helping out with UMD Biology Club, students gain access to resources for networking and career guidance, as well as information regarding science courses and faculty. Biology Club provides a fun, social atmosphere for students to engage with their peers and with the scientific community of Duluth, while contributing their services on campus.

We are engineers competing in the Formula SAE Collegiate Design Series to design, fabricate, test, and compete with a small formula style vehicle.

All majors and levels of knowledge are welcome to join. Students will learn to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world design problems and learn new skills along the way that may give them a boost in their classes. There are also multiple opportunities for networking with some of the top engineers from the automotive industry.

Bulldog Rocketry is a student organization at the University of Minnesota Duluth focused on the design, simulation, manufacturing, testing, and competition of high power rockets. Over the past few years, the team has grown from 5 to over 50 members due to the outstanding opportunities offered to the students.

Our organization is constantly striving to expand the expertise of the team and be as inclusive as possible. During the summer of 2018, the team placed second in the Space Port America Cup held by the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association, an international high powered rocketry competition. The team traveled to the competition in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The following summer, in 2019, the team took second place with the rocket reaching a height of over 30,000 feet. In order to advance our team, we have done extensive research into materials and equipment to ensure future successes. The advanced equipment we are looking forward to designing and manufacturing will include voice feedback, low power tracking systems, thermal imagining systems for finding missing persons, and advanced carbon fiber manufacturing methods. All components of the rocket have been designed and developed by the student teams.

Another endeavor our team has taken on includes further development of our Hybrid rocket, capable of reaching altitudes up to 40,000 feet. The Hybrid rocket will use advanced materials and manufacturing methods, which will provide our students with excellent real-world experience in cutting edge fields of engineering. Other developments is providing business students opportunities in expanding the business side of Bulldog Rocketry. We are also expanding our computer science capabilities with website building and data management.

Through the Duluth Street Medicine and Community Outreach, we are committed to transforming healthcare for marginalized and vulnerable populations through the practice of street medicine. Our mission is to increase awareness and understanding of street medicine among health professional students, fostering encounters where effective care extends beyond usual clinical settings and into the community.
We aim to rebuild trust and re-engage individuals within the community, providing compassionate healthcare that acknowledges and seeks to rectify the historical harms and judgments faced by unhoused individuals, those who use(d) substances, and those with other stigmatized health conditions. By actively listening to and collaborating with community partners, we strive to address identified needs and enhance existing support systems.
Our program focuses on creating pathways to health for those experiencing housing instability, prioritizing the voices of the community we serve. Through experiential learning opportunities, students will engage in direct service, volunteering alongside local efforts in street medicine.
We are dedicated to fostering an interprofessional community that enriches the educational experience of medical and health professional learners. Our curriculum will integrate didactic sessions led by experts and individuals with lived experience, equipping students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to care for under-resourced populations.
Ultimately, we seek to embed the principles of street medicine into the health professions curriculum, ensuring that future healthcare providers are prepared to deliver equitable and compassionate care to all individuals in proximity of their context and aware of their circumstances.

Engineers Without Borders is a global organization that designs engineering projects for communities in need. All designs are created and built by students. Currently, we are working on designing a water purification and distribution system for a community in rural Kenya.

The UMD Men's Rugby Club is a group of hard working and competitive rugby players that strive for excellence every year.

We accept players that range from newcomers to the sport to veterans who have played before in High School.

Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) is an organization for leaders. Our group is part of a national affiliation of over 300 campus Circles, representing approximately 6,000 new inductees every year.
ODK consists of sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are in the top 33% of their class academically (typically a 3.4 GPA). Those who are eligible will be invited to apply in the spring of the year that they are eligible. All majors are accepted!
Leadership is defined by five different areas of campus: Academics, Athletics, Service, Communication, and Arts.
If accepted into the society, members must pay a national due of $94.

Our goal is to create sustainable relationships with our environment and the world around us, starting with our local food system here in the Great Lakes region. We pursue projects at the UMD Land Lab farm that allow us to increase food security, sovereignty, and local organic produce in our area. We currently have several projects in progress including: mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, composting, edible forest gardening, biochar research, and much more! We also want to spread awareness about the UMD Land Lab and encourage other students and community members to visit the farm to learn more about sustainable farming techniques. Building relationships and engaging with the community is a very important aspect of our overall purpose.

Once a month The Bark also publishes a free print magazine that can be found on racks around the UMD campus.Come join The Bark; all students are welcome to contribute content but we want you to become a part of the team; volunteering can lead to paid positions, leadership roles or an internship in journalism, marketing, sales, graphic design, photography, multimedia etc. You can start small, find your niche and build up to reporting or editor! We will train you!There are two sides to a media outlet, editorial and business. Editorial: Journalism, writing, campus news, sports reporting, editing, social media, graphic design, photography, video. The Concrete Canoe Team competes in the American Society of Civil Engineers‚ (ASCE) symposium every year against other colleges across the country. The team uses the year to prepare and create the concrete mix design, create a new hull, and prepare for the presentation for the final competition. We meet every week in order to finish the canoe on time. No previous experience is needed! At the competition, the team also races the canoe to see how well it performs against the other teams. The Advanced Snowmobile Team works to redesign many features of a stock snowmobile to make it cleaner, quieter, and more efficient while still being fun to ride. In February every year, we compete in the ISMA Advanced Snowmobile Challenge in Eagle River, Wisconsin, against 20 other colleges that have all made innovative changes that will improve the world of snowmobiling. Employers in many industries seek the ideas and talent that rise from ASC teams around the Midwest, so being part of the team is a great benefit to any student involved. We have projects big and small that need help from students of all majors: Engineering, business, art, accounting, underwater basket-weaving, etc. If you are interested in learning more about what we do, come to one of our weekly meetings! They are every Monday at 5:15pm in Engineering 290.

Hello All! If you're looking for a high energy sport to smash some birdies around and get active you've come to the right place! The UMD Badminton club has been growing in order to offer rackets, birdies, and court space to recreational players, and we welcome those who are looking to improve their skills.

Casual membership is 40$ and allows you to use club rackets, birdies, and courts.
Competitive membership is 80$ and covers the 2-3 yearly tournaments as well as their room/travel.

We host an open tournament in the spring and are looking to improve it each year. We look forward to your participation in badminton this year, UMD Badminton Club.

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Dance Team is a student-led organization that competes annually at the national level at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) competition in Orlando, Florida.

Comprised of 20–25 athletes and guided by three co-coaches, the team achieved a historic milestone by winning its first-ever national championship in the Open Jazz category in 2023. Since then, UMD has remained a top contender, consistently placing in the top three in both Open Pom and Open Jazz.

In addition to the national competition, the team performs at some of the biggest dance events in Minnesota, including:
- Best of the Best
- Edina Invitational
- Nationals Send-Off Show

The UMD Dance Team is also deeply involved in the Duluth community, volunteering at events such as:
- Grandma’s Marathon
- Oktoberfest
- Local dance studio showcases
- Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk
- Various elementary school programs.

On campus, the team performs at every home football game and select men’s and women’s basketball games. They also host college prep clinics to inspire and engage future student-athletes while promoting UMD as an exceptional place to continue your education.

The University of Minnesota Duluth Figure Skating Team is a sport club registered under the Recreational Sport Outdoor Program (RSOP) at UMD. Students that are interested in joining must be registered full-time at a college or degree program.

We are a combination of three teams: a recreational team and two competitive teams, synchronized and intercollegiate skating. Skaters of any skill level or experience are welcome to join our recreational team.

Tryouts are held at the start of the season for skaters interested in participating on the synchronized or intercollegiate competitive teams.

We are dedicated to create a united community of skaters with all skating disciplines and backgrounds.

The Hockey Cheer team is comprised of students who come from diverse backgrounds of cheerleading, figure skating, and dance. Our team combines dancing and cheerleading on the ice and in the stands into one unified sport.

The team performs at men's hockey games on the ice between periods as well as in the stands during the game. Their time is dedicated to supporting the hockey team, getting fans involved, and creating routines for entertainment.

Practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights and games are on weekends with some travel.

We play teams in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The University of Minnesota-Duluth Men's Volleyball Club provides an opportunity for male students to play competitive, organized intercollegiate volleyball in the local, Midwest regional and national circuits.

Currently, the club offers two levels of play. The Bulldog B Team, primarily for beginning players, will participate in intercollegiate tournaments with teams across the Midwest. The NIVC Team, which is comprised of the top players at the school, competes in collegiate club tournaments throughout the conference, Midwest, and the country.

Both teams are coached by experienced players and certified coaches. Practices are held 2-3 nights per week during the Fall and Spring semesters.

During practice, club members will learn the fundamentals of organized volleyball, with special attention paid to the specific skills necessary for a players designated position. They will also learn our system of volleyball here at UMD, while gaining valuable leadership, communication, and team building skills.

Over the past two seasons the University of Minnesota- Duluth Men's Volleyball club has established itself as one of the top teams in the NIVC conference, and will again be in the hunt for not only a conference title but also the DII national title.

Mock trial uses substantive law process to help you develop an understanding of court proceedings within the judicial process. As a team member and fellow mocker, you will learn techniques used to address the courtroom, deliver Opening Statements, Witness Direct and Cross Examinations, as well as Closing Arguments. You will learn the rules of evidence and how to apply them to civil and criminal cases. Working one-on-one with our coach, team captains, and working with small &#34;modules&#34; we will help you to learn the basics of litigation and have fun in the process!

The Duluth Women's Rugby FC is always welcoming new members with open arms and encouraging them to try something new!

We love helping out our new members learn to play and understand the game of rugby in a safe way. A top priority we have is striving for good sportsmanship, always! We encourage the practice of diversity, equity, and inclusivity within our group.

Our team meets 2-3 times during the week with our coach for about 1.5-2 hours each time we meet. This gives us time throughout the week to learn and practice new skills so that we can be ready to travel on the weekends when we go to games or tournaments!

Back in 2018 our team was second place in D2 Women's rugby and made it to the semi-finals. We're excited to see you, go dogs!
