The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) is a Civil Engineering organization for students who are looking to increase their knowledge of steel construction through hands on learning. This organization is open to students of all academic levels and majors. We focus on designing and fabricating a 20 foot long bridge made out of steel for the Student Steel Bridge Competition. This competition takes place in the spring with colleges from all across the region. We will also hope to have opportunities for academic, social, and professional development, along with various opportunities for volunteering.

The Biology Club was established in the late sixties and gives students a place to interact socially and academically. We have a history of providing services to our department and connecting individuals within the SCSE Biology community.

Our officers coordinate with faculty and members to assign initiatives for each semester. Members collaboratively act on these initiatives by helping organize social or service events that engage the department faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, by helping out with UMD Biology Club, students gain access to resources for networking and career guidance, as well as information regarding science courses and faculty. Biology Club provides a fun, social atmosphere for students to engage with their peers and with the scientific community of Duluth, while contributing their services on campus.

We are engineers competing in the Formula SAE Collegiate Design Series to design, fabricate, test, and compete with a small formula style vehicle.

All majors and levels of knowledge are welcome to join. Students will learn to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world design problems and learn new skills along the way that may give them a boost in their classes. There are also multiple opportunities for networking with some of the top engineers from the automotive industry.

Bulldog Rocketry is a student organization at the University of Minnesota Duluth focused on the design, simulation, manufacturing, testing, and competition of high power rockets. Over the past few years, the team has grown from 5 to over 50 members due to the outstanding opportunities offered to the students.

Our organization is constantly striving to expand the expertise of the team and be as inclusive as possible. During the summer of 2018, the team placed second in the Space Port America Cup held by the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association, an international high powered rocketry competition. The team traveled to the competition in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The following summer, in 2019, the team took second place with the rocket reaching a height of over 30,000 feet. In order to advance our team, we have done extensive research into materials and equipment to ensure future successes. The advanced equipment we are looking forward to designing and manufacturing will include voice feedback, low power tracking systems, thermal imagining systems for finding missing persons, and advanced carbon fiber manufacturing methods. All components of the rocket have been designed and developed by the student teams.

Another endeavor our team has taken on includes further development of our Hybrid rocket, capable of reaching altitudes up to 40,000 feet. The Hybrid rocket will use advanced materials and manufacturing methods, which will provide our students with excellent real-world experience in cutting edge fields of engineering. Other developments is providing business students opportunities in expanding the business side of Bulldog Rocketry. We are also expanding our computer science capabilities with website building and data management.

The Criminology and Sociology Club is a group on campus to help students that are majoring in, minoring in, or just generally interested in Criminology and/or Sociology make connections within this sphere of interest and have discussions on related topics.

Although some topics and discussions might take an academic vent, it is not meant to be another class or lecture for people to sit through. This club is meant to help students get immersed in the realm of Criminology and Sociology. We want this to be a fun and engaging experience for anyone that is comes and we want everyone to feel welcome and included.

To increase awareness of the practice of street medicine among the health professional student body of the University of Minnesota: street medicine is the practice of medicine and other clinical care in areas outside of the traditional clinic or hospital setting, mainly providing healthcare for individuals that are experiencing homelessness or who are living in poverty.
b. To provide students with educational opportunities, for example via planned lunch lectures directed by professional experts and those with lived experience.
c. To create experiential learning opportunities through which members participate in community service, such as street medicine and related service in partnership with local community efforts.
d. To develop and grow the foundation for embedding street medicine into the current medical school and health professions curriculum.
e. To build an interprofessional community around participation in street medicine.
f. To create additional health pathways for those experiencing homelessness, with the ultimate goal of supporting marginalized and vulnerable populations throughout Minnesota.

Engineers Without Borders is a global organization that designs engineering projects for communities in need. All designs are created and built by students. Currently, we are working on designing a water purification and distribution system for a community in rural Kenya.

The Mission of the Graduate Student Association (GSA) is to promote and advocate for the interests of UMD graduate students. This organization serves as the primary communication channel from all graduate programs to the three elected Graduate Programs Committee student representatives; as well as one placed representative to Student Association. The acronym of Hmong Living in Unity and Balance, HLUB, is the direct translation of the Hmong word, love. The name of our student organization is unique because it also represents how strong we can be as a student group by promoting unity and balance for Hmong Americans while promoting, preserving, and advancing the Hmong culture and heritage. The Health of People Everywhere (HOPE) Clinic is a student-run, faculty-supervised educational clinic with the purpose to provide free medical access to the underserved populations of Duluth, especially those of who reside at the CHUM Center. Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) is an organization for leaders. Our newly formed group is part of a national affiliation of over 300 campus Circles, representing approximately 6,000 new inductees every year.
ODK consists of sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are in the top 33% of their class academically (typically a 3.4 GPA). Those who are eligible will be invited to apply in the spring of the year that they are eligible. All majors are accepted!
Leadership is defined by five different areas of campus: Academics, Athletics, Service, Communication, and Arts.
If accepted into the society, members must pay a one-time due of $94 (as ODK is a lifetime membership).

Our goal is to create sustainable relationships with our environment and the world around us, starting with our local food system here in the Great Lakes region. We pursue projects at the UMD Land Lab farm that allow us to increase food security, sovereignty, and local organic produce in our area. We currently have several projects in progress including: mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, composting, edible forest gardening, biochar research, and much more! We also want to spread awareness about the UMD Land Lab and encourage other students and community members to visit the farm to learn more about sustainable farming techniques. Building relationships and engaging with the community is a very important aspect of our overall purpose.

The Concrete Canoe Team competes in the American Society of Civil Engineers‚ (ASCE) symposium every year against other colleges across the country. The team uses the year to prepare and create the concrete mix design, create a new hull, and prepare for the presentation for the final competition. We meet every week in order to finish the canoe on time. No previous experience is needed! At the competition, the team also races the canoe to see how well it performs against the other teams. Casual membership is 40$ and allows you to use club rackets, birdies, and courts. Competitive membership is 80$ and covers the 3 yearly tournaments as well as their room/travel. The Clean Snowmobile Team works to redesign many features of a stock snowmobile to make it cleaner, quieter, and more efficient while still being fun to ride. In March every year, we compete in the SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge in Houghton, Michigan against about 19 other colleges who have all made innovative changes that will improve the world of snowmobiling. Employers in many industries seek the ideas and talent that rise from CSC teams around the Midwest, so being part of the team is a great benefit to any student involved. We have projects big and small that need help from students of all majors: Engineering, business, art, accounting, underwater basket-weaving, etc. If you are interested in learning more about what we do, come to one of our weekly meetings! They are every Monday at 5:15pm in Engineering 290.

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Dance Team is a nationally competitive team comprised of highly motivated and exceptional dancers. For the last four seasons, the Bulldog dancers competed at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Nationals at the ESPN complex in Orlando, Florida. In 2020, they competed TWO routines for the first time in history. We added a Pom routine which placed 7th in the Nation and placed 6th with our Jazz routine. In 2019 the team placed 5th in the nation in Jazz, in 2018, they placed 5th in Jazz, and in 2017 they placed 3rd in Jazz! Prior to that, the team competed with National Dance Alliance (NDA) in Daytona Beach, Florida. UMD students and sports fans enjoy watching the dance team perform at UMD athletic events such as football and basketball games.  The team also perform at several school fundraisers and dance shows in Minnesota, as well as hosting an end of season show featuring their dancing talent and that of dancers from local studios.

The University of Minnesota Duluth Figure Skating Team is a sport club registered under the Recreational Sport Outdoor Program (RSOP) at UMD. Students that are interested in joining must be registered full-time at a college or degree program. We are a combination of three teams: a recreational team and two competitive teams, synchronized and intercollegiate skating. Skaters of any skill level or experience are welcome to join our recreational team. Tryouts are held at the start of the season for skaters interested in participating on the synchronized or intercollegiate competitive teams. Mission Statement for UMD Green Bandana Project:The UMD Green Bandana project is a student athlete led mental health awareness campaign that was started by the athletic department’s SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) in the Fall of 2019. Our campaign runs year long and partners with the UMD Athletic Department and other organizations across the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth. The Hockey Cheer team is comprised of students who come from diverse backgrounds of cheerleading, figure skating, and dance. The Hockey Cheer team combines dancing and cheerleading on the ice and in the stands into one unified sport. The team performs at men's hockey games on the ice between periods as well as in the stands during the game. Their time is dedicated to supporting the hockey team, getting fans involved, and creating routines for entertainment.

The University of Minnesota-Duluth Men's Volleyball Club provides an opportunity for male students to play competitive, organized intercollegiate volleyball in the local, Midwest regional and national circuits. Currently, the club offers two levels of play. The Bulldog B Team, primarily for beginning players, will participate in intercollegiate tournaments with teams across the Midwest. The NIVC Team, which is comprised of the top players at the school, competes in collegiate club tournaments throughout the conference, Midwest, and the country. Both teams are coached by experienced players and certified coaches. Practices are held 2-3 nights per week during the Fall and Spring semesters. During practice, club members will learn the fundamentals of organized volleyball, with special attention paid to the specific skills necessary for a players designated position. They will also learn our system of volleyball here at UMD, while gaining valuable leadership, communication, and team building skills. Over the past two seasons the University of Minnesota- Duluth Men's Volleyball club has established itself as one of the top teams in the NIVC conference, and will again be in the hunt for not only a conference title but also the DII national title.

SGA is the easiest way for students to connect with the UMD Administration and Faculty! There are also many events that we host such as Late Night Library, Life After the Dorms, Bulldog Lobby Day, and many more! Our main goals are to advocate for you, the student, and give back to the UMD community! SGA is also a great way to learn how to be a student leader and make great connections. We are a competitive Division 2 club hockey team that plays in the ACHA W2 Division with our region consisting of teams around the midwest and Canada. Our team is consistently one of the top-ranked teams in the region. Game series happen about every other weekend, which includes some out of state traveling games. Our coaches are well-experienced in women's hockey. We have regular social gatherings outside of hockey to ensure team bonding within the team, including pasta dinners before important series of games.

Lady Dulax (Duluth Lacrosse) is a self-directed, motivated club team that represents UMD in the finest manner possible. We conduct ourselves with poise and class and strive for excellence in all we do. We commit to the team by choice, not by obligation.  We are a group of women who are not only friends and teammates, but we share a close special bond. We pick each other up when we are down, both on and off the field. It is our mission to be competitive; our ultimate goals are to win and enjoy doing so. For every member of the team, it is imperative to leave the  organization better than you found it!

The Duluth Women's Rugby FC is always welcoming new members with open arms and encouraging them to try something new! We love helping out our new members learn to play and understand the game of rugby in a safe way. A top priority we have is striving for good sportsmanship, always! We encourage the practice of diversity, equity, and inclusivity within our group. Our team meets 2-3 times during the week with our coach for about 1.5-2 hours each time we meet. This gives us time throughout the week to learn and practice new skills so that we can be ready to travel on the weekends when we go to games or tournaments! Back in 2018 our team was second place in D2 Women's rugby and made it to the semi-finals. We're excited to see you, go dogs!

The UMD Women's Soccer Club is a competitive based soccer program that offers students a place to belong on and off the field. This club was first established in 2017, and is currently developing and becoming stronger. Our team is built off of the passion for the game. LakEffect provides women the chance to play organized ultimate frisbee beyond the intramural level. We practice 2 times a week throughout the year and compete at tournaments with other schools in Minnesota and surrounding states. This organization is a great way to make friends, stay active, and become involved in a community you could be a part of after you leave UMD. No experienced needed.

UMD Women's Volleyball Club is a group of dedicated and energetic women who all share a love for volleyball. We travel and compete in collegiate volleyball tournaments around the midwest. Our season runs from September through April, ending with the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Championships in a different city every year.
