The Actuary Club was created to promote the actuary career. We aim to educate, prepare and aid students in exam preparation and aim to help students to become strong actuarial candidates by offering tools and support. We host talks and seminars at UMD by working actuaries who discuss their careers, many of which whom are UMD alumni. Our club attends local career fairs as well as the University of Minnesota Actuarial Career Fair in the Twin Cities each year to learn and network about actuarial career opportunities.

The Addiction Medicine Interest Group (AddMIG) is dedicated to increasing education and advocacy focused on addiction medicine and drug use through a harm reduction lens. In collaboration with local addiction medicine physicians and organizations, it aims to create resources that better meet the needs of communities affected by addiction. It also strives to provide students with the intersectional perspective necessary to compassionately care for folks living with addiction. Additionally, it aims to provide students with resources to potential career paths into addiction medicine, and emphasizes the importance of adequate addiction training across all medical specialties.

The Advocates for Reproductive Freedom at UMD (previously the Student Advocates for Choice) work to protect everyone's reproductive freedom through advocacy, educating our peers, volunteer work, and political action. Our group fights for equal access to abortion services, contraception, and pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care; scientifically-accurate medical information regarding reproductive health care; support for LGBTQ+ students, students of color, and students with disabilities; and the connection between campus and community advocacy. We are affiliated with Pro-Choice Minnesota.

Alpha Delta was founded on August 4, 2007, but by the end of the first stages, the fraternity would have 22 founders from three different all-male chapters of Alpha Phi Omega (University of Maine, Drexel University, Duquesne University). The fraternity also holds to the values prescribed by Alpha Phi Omega founder and first national president Frank Reed Horton upon the creation of Alpha Phi Omega and therefore claims him as spiritual founder. The second national president H. Roe Bartle is also claimed as a spiritual founder. Alpha Delta was founded to uphold a standard of manhood set by the founders that would withstand the test of time. They ensure that although Alpha Delta is not a service fraternity for logistical reasons, the sole purpose of Alpha Delta is to provide service to mankind in four areas: to the brotherhood, to the university, to the community, and to the nation.

Starting at the Alpha Phi Omega National Convention in 2006, on December 29, numerous all-male chapters of the fraternity gathered together, feeling alienated and isolated, to discuss the option of creating a new direction that would protect the truest intentions of founder Frank Reed Horton by continuing to spread his principles and standard of manhood. This new direction culminated in the formation of a new national fraternity due to an ideological split between the all-male chapters and the national fraternity. The new fraternity would continue to hold community service at the highest of its ideals, but also preserve their respective chapters rich all-male heritage.

The Nu Mu Chapter of Alpha Delta (formerly of Alpha Phi Omega) was started in 1961. Since then the chapter has had a strong program of service along with many various social events. The Nu Mu Alumni base is large and full of great men and leaders in their communities.

Alpha Nu Omega is a local social fraternity founded in 1959. Our basic founding principles are social betterment, academic achievement, community relations, friendship and brotherhood. To further our academic goals, Alpha Nu Omega is the only fraternity on campus to offer $10,000 in scholarships to members based on the principles of academic excellence, need, and community activity. We also have a blazer program that is sponsored by the Alpha Nu Omega Alumni Association which provides a custom-made blazer to each member. Due to our beliefs that the Greek life experience should be available for everyone, the first semester associating with Alpha Nu Omega is free of any dues.

We encourage women to create lifelong friendships that are grounded in shared values. Alpha Sigma Tau’s National Philanthropy is the Women’s Wellness Initiative. The Initiative empowers Alpha Sigma Tau members to improve women’s wellness through service activities and projects. The Epsilon Chi chapter at UMD was recently established in the Spring of 2017. The mission of the American Choral Directors Association is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy. The UMD student chapter of ACDA accepts members from all majors and disciplines with an interest in choral music and choral compositions. The organization seeks to encourage participation in UMD's choral concerts and events, and in regional and national ACDA events such as conferences and workshops, through advertising, fundraising, and through the invitation of guest choral musicians.

The American Fisheries Society is committed to improving the conservation and sustainability of fishery resources and aquatic ecosystems by advancing fisheries and aquatic science and promoting the development of fisheries professionals. Events in Duluth include invited speakers from local agencies, trash pickup on local shorelines, helping with local scientific studies, aquarium visits, hatchery tours, habitat restoration projects, and much more.

ADA is an inter-collegiate dance club with dancers from the University of Minnesota Duluth, Lake Superior College, and the College of Saint Scholastica. We accept dancers of any and all dance levels! We do dance workshops in the fall in a variety of styles (jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, etc.) and difficulty levels (beginner-advanced). In the Spring, we put on a dance recital.
