The UMD Traditional Crafts & Heritage Club is dedicated to exploring the living history of craft along Lake Superior. We partner with local artisans, boatbuilders, makerspaces, and community art centers to provide students with hands-on experiences in woodworking, carving, toolmaking, folk arts, and other traditional trades. Through workshops, site visits, lectures, and collaborative projects, we seek to honor the skills and stories that shaped our region while creating a welcoming space for new makers. Open to all majors and experience levels.
*In accordance with University of Minnesota Policy, all students are welcome to join and participate in this group's activities as members or supporters, regardless of identity*
